Monday, March 8, 2010 - Monday night, the Engine and fire chief were out training in an acquired structure. During the training, Claymont was alerted for the RIT assignment on the working fire in Upper Chichester (Delco). E132, 138 from the training class and Rescue 13 from the station responded with 13 volunteers within a minute of dispatch. E132 and the Chief arrived first and started sizing up the scene, performing a 360, and throwing ladders. R13 arrived a minute later and assisted with throwing ladders and positioning additional equipment. Crews from Claymont threw numerous ground ladders to all sides of the fire building as well as clearing windows for egress routes for interior crews. Claymont stood by until incident was placed under control and were cleared by command.
